Swim in an extra large pool overlooking extensive views and relax on a covered veranda at Monribot, a large luxury house here in Rouffignac in the Dordogne. Exposed beams and stone walls show the home's history perfectly, but you’ll find the modern conveniences you expect in this newly renovated holiday home, including elegant modern bathrooms, air conditioning and your very own party and home cinema room.
This family-friendly property situated at the end of a tree lined lane in a tiny hamlet. There are 2 fully equipped gites alongside the main property, making sure every one of your party has their own space in which to relax.
The property has a well equipped kitchen overlooking the cobbled courtyard which leads out to a glazed summer room with views to both the valley and the 13m x 7m heated pool. The main house sleeps 10 people with all bedrooms newly decorated to a high standard, 3 bathrooms and an additional separate WC.
A star room in the property has to be the the characterful informal dining area, accessed via a large stone archway. The space is ideal for friends/family gatherings – with its own bar, bread oven and large flat screen TV this is a space for everyone to enjoy.
The first floor has a home cinema completed by surround sound, cable TV and Wi-fi access - there is plenty to keep guests who aren't outside in the pool well entertained.
The grounds contain outdoor activities kids can enjoy, including swings, a slide and extensive gardens. You’ll no doubt gather on the terrace or the veranda, which has a shaded dining pergola area overlooking the views.
Just outside Rouffignac, the property is 3km away from all amenities including traditional French shops and the all-important boulangerie. With a large supermarket and a weekly outdoor morning market, you’ll have what you need to prepare meals in the fully fitted kitchen.
This property is based in the Dordogne (often referred to by its ancient name "The Périgord"). Although times may have changed over the years the beautiful Dordogne landscape, in one of the most beautiful areas of France, continues to offer something to amaze and delight everyone. This ancient land, deep in the heart of sunny south-west France, is perfect holiday country; a magical place that will reward all those who choose to explore it.
The Périgord Noir where the vast majority of our properties are located, is the 'Jewel in the Crown' of the Dordogne for here, in the triangle formed between the rivers Vézère and Dordogne, you will find the greatest concentration of natural wonders and historic sites, and the loveliest stretches of both rivers. The area is bounded by four famous towns and this property is well situated within this boundary - Sarlat, a medieval treasure house; Périgueux, a thriving and sophisticated small city; Bergerac, shippers of wine since the Middle ages and Monpazier, an extraordinarily well preserved bastide built by King Edward I in 1285.
1 hour from Bergerac airport, 1.5 hours from Brive airport, 2.5 hours from Bordeaux airport/TGV station and 2.5 hours from Toulouse airport.
