Additional Information

Please note:

A beautifully restored 16th Century Château in completely private grounds yet with the advantage of being only a very short drive from the market town of Le Bugue with its colourful bustling market every Tuesday morning. Offering a large swimming pool with quality poolside furniture and well maintained tennis court, the property is encompassed by lovely landscaped gardens and woodland of 8 hectares and has spectacular views across the Vézère Valley. At one end of the Château is a wysteria-covered pergola - ideal for outdoor dining. The resident guardians have their own separate accommodation within the grounds of the property and included in the rental price is a daily maid service of 4 hours. Table settings will be laid for breakfast whilst evening meals may be arranged direct with the guardians upon arrival or may be booked in advance via Simply Perigord. A laundering service is also available by arrangement with the guardians.

All interior rooms have been renovated and decorated to a high standard, offering every modern amenity without losing the charm and character of ancient times - for example, the original wide oak staircase at one end of the house has been retained and beautifully restored.

The property offers four large beautifully furnished double bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom - one pair of bedrooms at one end of the house and the second pair at the other end of the property. All double bedrooms have sitting areas; the master bedroom has its large ensuite bathoom in the Château tower.

On the ground floor is a large country style kitchen with terracotta floor tiles and farmhouse breakfast table. A step leads up into the hallway from which the wide oak staircase leads to two ensuite bedrooms with the twin bedded room one further flight up. From the other side of the hallway one may access the separate dining room with travertine floor and open fireplace which then leads through to the large comfortably furnished sitting room, also with open working fireplace and travertine floor. There is a delightful card room off the sitting room contained in the tower of the Chateau. A cleverly painted fresco of warm colours gives the impression of being outdoors. On the other side of the sitting room is a small study with fireplace, a small hallway with the second staircase leading to the other two double ensuite bedrooms and also a separate WC.

All in all a beautiful property, set in lovely grounds and offering the best of everything for a magical holiday.
