Limeuil is one of "Les Beaux Villages" of France and rightly so. Situated as it is at the confluence of the rivers Dordogne and Vézère it was strategically important in past centuries. The ornate doorways and substantial buildings indicate that it was also a prosperous little town since the two rivers were important thoroughfares for the trading of the region's main commodities of walnuts, wood and wine. This stone village house on three levels has been recently restored to create a delightful home combining charm and character with all modern conveniences. The view from the terrace is delightful . Within walking distance there are several restaurants, a café and a bakers. For more serious walkers the area around Limeuil and Paunat is criss-crossed with a network of wonderful walks.
We must advise that this house is not suitable for very young children. It is otherwise an excellent opportunity to spend time in a picture book historic village.

Un des 'Plus Beaux Villages de France', Limeuil est un village médiéval, aux ruelles pittoresques et escarpées. Des maisons aux portes sculptées, des murs aux portails ornés révèlent l'importance historique de ce village situé au confluent des rivières Dordogne et Vézère. Pendant des siècles ces rivières étaient des voies importantes du commerce dans la région. A Limeuil Haut, cette maison ancienne en pierre a une jolie vue de la terrasse, couverte par des glycines. A quelques minutes à pied, il y a plusieurs restaurants, un café et une boulangerie. La maison a trois niveaux. Au rez-de-chaussée, il y a un séjour, salle à manger avec un coin cuisine bien équipé. Des escaliers descendent au niveau inférieur où il y a une chambre, avec un grand lit et un petit lit, et une salle de douches. A l'étage il y a une jolie chambre avec grand lit et une salle de bains. A déconseiller aux familles avec de petits enfants, les escaliers et la terrasse ne leur conviennent pas.
