An impressive and historically important 18th Century Château in the heart of the Dordogne offering very high quality accommodation in one private wing of the Château. Guests are assured exclusive use of the pool, tennis court and sauna and also have their own dedicated grounds/garden, thus ensuring complete privacy.
Interior renovation and design have been completed to a high standard using quality fixtures and fittings whilst maintaining the characterful features of exposed stonework, beams and fireplaces. Solid oak flooring reclaimed from the Orient Express has been used in the bedrooms and sitting room.
On entering the Château's guest wing via a flight of stone steps which lead to a private entrance door one arrives into the well equipped and recently modernised kitchen/dining room with stone flooring, open stone fireplace and a good range of wall and base kitchen units. To the left, an inner hallway leads to the newly installed sauna in Swedish pine.
To the right of the kitchen steps lead up to a hallway off which is located the family bathroom with walk-in shower. Continuing on, the hallway leads into the large sitting room with comfortable sofas and armchairs, exposed beams, solid oak flooring and gorgeous views of the Dordogne valley.
From the sitting room a doorway leads to a second hallway, off which are three good sized bedrooms (two double, one twin) each following its own colour scheme and with high quality beds, mattresses and linens.
Outside the large pool with sun deck overlooks the stunning views. The grounds behind the guest wing are entirely at the disposition of guests and a small graveled pathway leads to the tennis court, also for the private use of guests.
All in all a high quality rental offering very comfortable accommodation and being ideally located to visit the many sites this lovely region has to offer.
The owners live in an entirely separate part of the Château and are on hand to help should you need them. They speak both English and French.
3 bedrooms (2 double; 1 twin)
This property is based in the Dordogne (often referred to by its ancient name "The Périgord"). Although times may have changed over the years the beautiful Dordogne landscape, in one of the most beautiful areas of France, continues to offer something to amaze and delight everyone. This ancient land, deep in the heart of sunny south-west France, is perfect holiday country; a magical place that will reward all those who choose to explore it.
The Périgord Noir where the vast majority of our properties are located, is the 'Jewel in the Crown' of the Dordogne for here, in the triangle formed between the rivers Vézère and Dordogne, you will find the greatest concentration of natural wonders and historic sites, and the loveliest stretches of both rivers. The area is bounded by four famous towns and this property is well situated within this boundary - Sarlat, a medieval treasure house; Périgueux, a thriving and sophisticated small city; Bergerac, shippers of wine since the Middle ages and Monpazier, an extraordinarily well preserved bastide built by King Edward I in 1285.
Less then 1 hour from Bergerac airport, 1.5 hours from Brive airport, 2.5 hours from Bordeaux airport/TGV station and 2.5 hours from Toulouse airport.
- 4km from St Cyprien (all services); 25km from Sarlat (all services)
