A beautifully restored 15th Century Château in completely private grounds yet with the advantage of being only a very short drive from the market town of Le Bugue with its colourful bustling market every Tuesday morning. Offering a large swimming pool with quality poolside furniture and well maintained tennis court, the property is encompassed by lovely landscaped gardens and woodland of 13 hectares and has spectacular views across the Vézère Valley. At one end of the Château is a wysteria-covered pergola - ideal for outdoor dining. The resident guardians have their own separate accommodation within the grounds of the property and included in the rental price is a daily maid service of 4 hours. Table settings will be laid for breakfast whilst evening meals may be arranged direct with the guardians upon arrival or may be booked in advance via Simply Perigord. A laundering service is also available by arrangement with the guardians.

All interior rooms have been renovated and decorated to a high standard, offering every modern amenity without losing the charm and character of ancient times - for example, the original wide oak staircase at one end of the house has been retained and beautifully restored.
The property offers four large ensuite double bedrooms - one pair of bedrooms at one end of the house and the second pair at the other end of the property. All bedrooms have sitting areas; the master bedroom has its ensuite bathoom in the tower.

On the ground floor is a large country style kitchen with terracotta floor tiles and farmhouse breakfast table. A step leads up into the hallway from which the wide oak staircase leads to two of the bedrooms. From the other side of the hallway one may access the separate dining room with travertine floor and open fireplace which then leads through to the large comfortably furnished sitting room, also with open working fireplace and travertine floor. There is a delightful card room off the sitting room contained in the tower of the Château. A cleverly painted mural in the trompe l'oeil style creates the impression of being outdoors. On the other side of the sitting room is a small study with fireplace, a small hallway with the second staircase leading to the other two double ensuite bedrooms and also a separate WC.

All in all a beautiful property, set in lovely grounds and offering the best of everything for a magical holiday.

This property is based in the Dordogne (often referred to by its ancient name "The Périgord"). Although times may have changed over the years the beautiful Dordogne landscape, in one of the most beautiful areas of France, continues to offer something to amaze and delight everyone. This ancient land, deep in the heart of sunny south-west France, is perfect holiday country; a magical place that will reward all those who choose to explore it.

The Périgord Noir where the vast majority of our properties are located, is the 'Jewel in the Crown' of the Dordogne for here, in the triangle formed between the rivers Vézère and Dordogne, you will find the greatest concentration of natural wonders and historic sites, and the loveliest stretches of both rivers. The area is bounded by four famous towns and this property is well situated within this boundary - Sarlat, a medieval treasure house; Périgueux, a thriving and sophisticated small city; Bergerac, shippers of wine since the Middle ages and Monpazier, an extraordinarily well preserved bastide built by King Edward I in 1285.

Less then 1 hour from Bergerac airport, 1.5 hours from Brive airport, 2.5 hours from Bordeaux airport/TGV station and 2.5 hours from Toulouse airport.

At 1km from Limeuil (boutiques, organic grocery store which sells bread (July & August),restaurants & cafés); 3km from Le Bugue (banks, shops, supermarkets, restaurants & cafés).
