This substantial, spacious stone house sits high on the top of a hill just outside the market town of Le Buisson with lovely views across the countryside and valleys beyond. The property is on two levels - the first floor being the accommodation level, thus benefitting from lots of natural light due to its elevated position.
A stone balcony completely encircles the property on the upper level, enjoying the fabulous view, from which steps lead down to the garden and pool.
The large garden is stocked with mature trees and shrubs and completely surrounds the property which is approached by a long winding private driveway. The pool area enjoys the wonderful views and has plenty of space for eating outdoors including a terrace adjacent to the pool with built-in stone barbecue.
All rooms lead off a large central hallway with many having their own French windows out onto the balcony. The large and very light sitting/dining room is decorated in cream hues and has a carved fireplace, corniche mouldings and light wood floor. The area is bounded by four famous towns and this property is well situated within this boundary - Sarlat, a medieval treasure house; Périgueux, a thriving and sophisticated small city; Bergerac, shippers of wine since the Middle ages and Monpazier, an extraordinarily well preserved bastide built by King Edward I in 1285.
