A charming old stone cottage, ideal for a couple or small family, located in 2 hectares of very pretty countryside yet ideally located just 2kms from the market town of Le Bugue with its colourful market every Tuesday morning.
The cottage has a delightful grassy courtyard in front with vine covered eating area. Opposite the courtyard, on a slightly lower level, a gate gives access to the enclosed and totally private pool with terrace and lovely views across the countryside and woodlands beyond.
At the back of the property is an ideal barbecue area, also with woodland views.
From the front courtyard the entrance door leads into the comfortable sitting room with ornamental fireplace, tiled floor and exposed stonework and beams. To the right, two steps lead to the large master bedroom which is light and airy with parquet floor, beams, writing desk and a door to the grassy courtyard. A short corridor, also on the right of the sitting room, leads to a shower room, laundry area and separate WC. To the left of the sitting room the very pretty country style kitchen with pale blue units leads through to the dining room which has exposed stonework and beams. Both the kitchen and dining rooms have doors leading outside to the vine covered eating area. From the dining room steep wooden stairs lead up to a small twin bedded room with ensuite bathroom.
All in all a very cute country cottage offering a quiet retreat with lovely views yet within striking distance of a bustling market town and within easy reach of the numerous sites in the Périgord.

This property is based in the Dordogne (often referred to by its ancient name "The Périgord"). Although times may have changed over the years the beautiful Dordogne landscape, in one of the most beautiful areas of France, continues to offer something to amaze and delight everyone. This ancient land, deep in the heart of sunny south-west France, is perfect holiday country; a magical place that will reward all those who choose to explore it.
The Périgord Noir where the vast majority of our properties are located, is the 'Jewel in the Crown' of the Dordogne for here, in the triangle formed between the rivers Vézère and Dordogne, you will find the greatest concentration of natural wonders and historic sites, and the loveliest stretches of both rivers. The area is bounded by four famous towns and this property is well situated within this boundary - Sarlat, a medieval treasure house; Périgueux, a thriving and sophisticated small city; Bergerac, shippers of wine since the Middle ages and Monpazier, an extraordinarily well preserved bastide built by King Edward I in 1285.
Less then 1 hour from Bergerac airport, 1.5 hours from Brive airport, 2.5 hours from Bordeaux airport/TGV station and 2.5 hours from Toulouse airport.
2km from Le Bugue (banks, shops, supermarkets, restaurants & cafés).
